*The Capital and Engineering organization is a new function within the Agro Sciences (Ag) Division of DowDuPont that is chartered to deliver capital solutions, engineering and project execution expertise across the Ag Division, including both Platforms (Crop Protection and Seeds).* *This organization has many exciting new job opportunities, including this posting for a Construction Manager.* The Construction Managermanages and coordinates all construction activities on the project site or provideoversight on projects that are executed with external engineering services (EPC). An active member during FEL-2 and FEL3 planning and documentation process, assures construction contracting strategies meet both project and business objectives. Engages the EPC / contractor for constructability input to the design effort in addition to project schedule, quality requirements and cost control strategies. He / She also monitors and approves completeness of contractor activities,general contractor performance monitoringand payment for completed work,ensures a safe work environment and quality assurance oversight. He / She alsoestablishes clear Owner expectations on EPC deliverables and monitor EPC progress. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assures Construction Contracting Processes for capital projects in the region / site are tactically aligned to regional / site EPC/EPCM strategy. 2. Ensures Construction effectiveness/competitiveness in the capital programs are accomplished through communications of alternatives, assess risk / benefit trade-offs, and offer mitigation options for final decision/alignment by Project Leadership. 3. Reviews proposed construction activity durations and Organization Plan and assists in the preparation of the Contracting Plan. 4. Owner Construction Lead in planning and coordination of a project for constructability, 'design-for-safety', schedule, construction quality and cost effectiveness including lean construction techniques, during FEL-2, 3 and during construction phase. 5. Plans and organizes complex, multi-discipline construction projects, allocation of resources / schedules. 6. Assures safety, schedule, quality of work, cost performance and change management of all field construction activities on the project. 7. Monitors and tracks contractor work for quality and completeness. Provides progress reports on construction activities to Project Leadership. 8. Sets expectations for contractors, assures Business objectives are met and audits contractor's performance. 9. Provides input on equipment and materials marshaling at the construction site. Ensures a robust inventory management and contractor hand-off of materials for the assigned project 10. Establishes and implement capital project Quality Reporting and Metrics for the assigned project. 11. Assists the Ag project team to perform the Owner's Quality role. Establish overall project Quality requirements and any unique standards/specifications, reviewing and assessing the contractor's Quality Plans and Programs for fit and appropriateness, defining deliverables format and content, and then auditing/inspecting the contractor work process/products to ensure that Quality processes are being followed/accomplished, and that deliverables meet Ag expectations. 12. Monitors and tracks contractor work for quality and completeness. Provides progress reports on construction activities to Project Leadership. 13. Reviews and approves contractor invoicing of completed work. 14. Provides input into Contractor Safety and provides trend analysis 15. Ensures critical review and audit processes are in place and effective (ie 100% Design Reviews, field quality audits). 16. Accountable to the Ag Project Leadership for managing Contractors' Safety at Project Sites, for their assigned projects to ensure that construction contractors are following site and corporate best practice and policy for managing the safety of all employees on the construction site. 17. Drives construction technology applications to advance construction productivity, construction safety, cost effectiveness and continuous improvement 18. Ensures all construction processes of the projects being managed, strictly adhere to the AgCo Corporate/Business Intellectual Property (IP) / Trade Secrets (TS) content policy 19. Maximizes bringing 'Outside-In' from organizations to advance on Continuous Improvement on Construction Management. * BS in Engineering or technical field is required or equivalent on the job experience * 15years of capital project experience * 8-10 years' experience in construction management on capital projects. * A minimum requirement for this US based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED * Knowledgeable of industry standard best practices for construction management and construction safety * Use of standard Microsoft applications - Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Broad understanding of EPC disciplines and activities that are necessary to design, construct and start-up chemical processes. * Knowledge of craft competencies required in construction * Understanding and detailed knowledge of construction quality and acceptance criteria. SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED * Self-motivation and ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision. * Great time management skills including the ability to manage a substantial work load. * Interpersonal skills for developing a client base and working in a multi-function team environment. * Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and desire to expand knowledge. * Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple concurrent activities and deliver on commitments under tight time constraints. * Ability to work in a team environment to deliver per project objectives. * English fluency, speaking and writing, in addition to fluent in local language. * Strong ability in listening and communication, including consulting by telephone. * Comfortable working with colleagues with a variety of backgrounds. * Focused on delivering effective, usable results. * Sound interpersonal skills, confidence, and ability to form good working relationships and negotiate effectively with internal and external contacts. GEOGRAPHIC PREFERENCES, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS * Location: Midland, MI. * Must be able to travel to company facilities, construction sites and Engineering Contractors (EPC) if required. * Travel - 25% may be required.
