**Environmental Specialist**
Trinseo has an exciting opportunity for an EH&S; Specialist whose primary focus will be developing, implementing, managing, and serving as the Environmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Trinseo North America. This position is located at the Midland, MI facility but will provide support and expertise to Dalton, GA.
* Be the key Environmental focal point for the implementation of management systems and work processes Trinseo North America
* Manage air, water and waste permits. This includes submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes and submittal of permit renewal applications to ensure continuous license to operate
* Collect, input and calculate EH&S; reporting information
* Manage submittal of all permit and regulatory required agency reports. Maintain all EH&S; records in accordance with the company record retention policy.
* Utilize EH&S; Expertise to obtain clear interpretations of site-specific regulatory process, regulations, laws and associated procedures
* Act as Agency Visit Protocol Owner and implementer
* Able to identify and keep current with local, area and regional environmental requirements. Interpret, implement and ensure full sustainable compliance with those external requirements
* Performs record keeping / filing functions.
* Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
* Provide influential leadership and coaching for EH&S; Delivery Techs.
* Provide environmental expertise for project reviews
* Provide influential leadership and technical expertise needed as a result of internal/external EH&S; audits.
* Assist their facilities in response to unplanned events.
* Provide subject matter expert review of facility MOC's.
* Lead projects targeting environmental performance and compliance improvement within facilities.
* Serve as an Environmental auditor within Trinseo s internal EH&S; Auditing program
* Works with third party waste disposal vendors to ensure compliance with all disposal regulations
* Develops and manages North America approved waste disposal vendors list
* Completes annual GEI reporting
* Responsible for maintaining and improving the environmental management systems
**Required Qualifications:**
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in EH&S; or Engineering
* Demonstrate influential leadership skills, inspire others, and lead EH&S; implementation initiatives across the site.
* 2+ years in a construction environment.
* 4+ years safety and health experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Safety and health certification.
* Bachelors Degree.
* Certified Safety or Environmental Professional
* Experience with external regulatory requirements both at the federal and state level
* 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
