Job DescriptionMAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Complete patient admission assessment and pre-op documentation.Assess patients home medications.Review lab work and planned procedure.Start IV and IV fluids.Document pulses pre procedure.Witness patient sign consent.Delegate tasks to other staff members.Provide patient and patients family members education regarding procedure and recovery.Collaborate effectively with all staff members to facilitate patient outcomes.Communicate effectively with all staff members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.Document on all clinic records as required, leaving no blank spaces.Adhere to clinic policies and procedures.Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients and families.Assist with sheath pull when needed.Recognize groin complications and reports to physician as needed.Prepare the patient and family for discharge from the clinic.Perform other duties as assigned.Act as a resource and trains new staff members as needed.The above statement reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified, and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements which may be inherent in the position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:The qualifications/position requirements identified below list the skill level, ability, and knowledge required to successfully performing the essential duties of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Current RN license in the State of Michigan.BCLS required, ACLS preferred.Ability to prioritize nursing care to ensure patient safety.Experience caring for patients pre and post angiograms.Experience in assisting with pulling arterial sheaths or completion of competency training.Responds to emergency situations and recognizes changes in the patients status.Knowledge of pharmacology.Knowledge of sedation reversal agents.Ability to work as part of a team.Maintains competencies as required by MMHAVC.
