Provide personal assistance, ADLs, homemaking services and promotes client comfort and safety.A' Responsible for observing and reporting/documenting the observations and services provided.A' The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of client care. Responsibilities Follow plan of care to meet clientA cents € (TM) s needs; if unable to perform a requested task, contact the supervisor immediatelyMeet safety needs of client and family and use equipment safely and properlyGive personal care including Activities of Daily Living/ADLs, baths, showers, backrubs, oral hygiene, nail care with emery boards, nail clippers and orange sticks, shampoo clientA cents € (TM) s hair, and change bed linens as specified on the plan of careAssist in feeding the client as necessaryAssist in dressing and undressing the clientPlan and prepare nutritious mealsTake and record oral, auxiliary temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure as directedProvide proper care and observation of clientA cents € (TM) s skin to prevent breakdownAssist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the primary nurse or therapistOffer and assist with bedpans, urinals, toileting and incontinence care and enemas with prepared enema (Fleets type)Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as directed within scope of practice and for which competency has been verifiedAssist the client and family in the self-administration of medication as directedKeep clientA cents € (TM) s living area clean and orderly, as appropriateDo client laundry as directedAdhere to organizational documentation, care and practice policies and procedures and protects clientA cents € (TM) s privacyAttend the required educational presentations as required by agencyFollow standards of universal precautions and infection control according to policies and proceduresConduct self in a professional manner and maintain the ethical standards of the organizationPerform additional tasks as directed by RN supervisor and for which competency has been verifiedMaintain a communication method by which agency can contact for scheduling ie telephone and pager; responds to voice mail messages in a timely mannerApply appropriate agency non-medication protocols for pain and symptom management as directedObserve client and promptly report changes to the supervisor or Skilled NurseApply non-prescription ointmentsPerform range of motion exercise per Plan of Care (POC)Demonstrate competency in tasks required by the Conditions of ParticipationFollow all precautions included in the Plan of Care/POCA' Provide catheter and colostomy care, perform simple dressing or other special tasks as directed after competency has been verifiedMay assist client with set up and cleaning of equipment such as oxygen and nebulizersChange linens and perform light housekeepingPrepare light meal or snack, offer fluids if directed; assist in feeding client as directed High school diploma or equivalent preferredHas successfully completed a State established or other training program and a competency evaluation program for CNAMinimum of one (1) year experience as CNA preferredA' Keywords:A' A' A' Wellspring Lutheran Services, Geriatric, Senior Services, Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA, Home Care, Frankenmuth, Saginaw, Genesee#CB
