As part of the Customer Services organization at Consumers Energy, the Onsite Energy Services team serves as an energy advocate for external customers. Through energy reduction initiatives, conservation methods, and gaining efficiencies with energy, the team impacts business customers through innovative, reliable, and competitive energy solutions.
The Energy Advisor is a customer:facing Energy specialist with a focus on providing energy management services for customer(s) by identifying and implementing optimization opportunities relative to the consumption of energy. The Energy Advisor should be able to conduct reporting, budgeting, forecasting, develop business cases, and lead/manage projects if called upon to do so. A strong understanding of energy reliability principles and conduct root
cause analyses will be used routinely in this role.
:Serve as a customer advocate, often at the customer site, for any energy related needs
:Provide education/training to industrial / large commercial customers at their facilities (which may include manufacturing plants)
:Utilize effective communication skills to answer inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public
:Public involvement, which may include producing reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders
:Attend internal and external meetings
:Provide business analysis and support services in a legal and ethical manner
:Perform various duties requiring remaining safe at all times.
:Bachelor degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program as set forth in the Engineering Council on Professional Development.
:In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical field or extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance may be considered for placement in the Engineering Tech Analyst job family
- Minimum 2+ years in a technical, industrial or engineering environment
- Willing to obtain Energy Manager Certification within 3 years
The following skills and experience may set you apart from others:
- Master or other advanced degree
- Certified Energy Manager Certification
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with MS Project, Visio
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
The Engineering Job Family is utilized in those areas of the Company where engineering services are provided. Typically employees in this job family are required to utilize various computer software programs, and to design, develop and/or provide advice and counsel on the operation of equipment and processes and procedures. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to laws and regulations applicable to Company employees.
